Warframe Cetus Day/Night Sensor Integration

Hey everyone, I’m super excited to share my recent project with the Warframe Cetus day/night sensor integration! If you’re a Warframe enthusiast like me, you know how frustrating it can be to miss out on those juicy Arkanis drops from Eidolon’s during night cycles. Well, no more frustration! I’ve managed to set up a smart sensor that dims my lights as night approaches in Cetus, all thanks to the Warframe Hub and their world status API. :video_game::sparkles:

Here’s a quick rundown of what I did:

  1. Sensor Setup: I used Home Assistant to create a sensor that tracks the Cetus cycle. It fetches data from the Warframe status API and updates in real-time.
  2. State Trigger: I set up a template sensor to detect when it’s getting close to night or morning. This triggers my lights to dim gradually, giving me a heads-up to prepare for the next cycle.
  3. Lovelace Card: I even created a custom Lovelace card to visualize the Cetus state right on my dashboard. It shows whether it’s day, night, or transitioning, with some cute icons to boot! :art:

I had a few hiccups along the way, especially with parsing the time left correctly, but with some trial and error, I got it sorted. The key was adding a check to ensure the time left wasn’t zero before triggering any actions. :rocket:

While I’m not a coding wizard, this project was a great way to dip my toes into more advanced Home Assistant configurations. If anyone else is looking to integrate Warframe into their smart home setup, I’d be happy to share more details or help troubleshoot! Just drop a comment below.

Happy hunting in Cetus! Let’s make those Eidolon drops a thing of the past! :male_detective::male_sign::sparkles:
