My water leak sensors are constantly disconnecting. Any suggestions?
Hello @antwonkeyes
How long has this been happening?
Make sure in the leak sensor settings that the Zigbee signal is good or excellent, check the battery condition (it may need to be replaced). Try placing the hub closer to the sensor and check the behavior of the sensor near the hub.
If the Zigbee signal in the settings is not good enough, you need to use Zigbee repeaters for greater coverage of the Zigbee network, if you do not use them. I wrote about this here → https://forum.aqara.com/t/aqara-m100-as-zigbee-repeater/54992/2?u=raman.v
Hello, look at the principle of connecting communication in the system, many users have a problem with this at the first stages of design, which leads to misunderstanding of the problems.
Zigbee channel communication chain.
Zigbee (battery) → Zigbee (repeater, 220 V with zero) → M2-> WiFi ← M3 ← Zigbee (repeater, 220 V with zero) ← Zigbee (battery). Gateways can be different, these are written as an example. There can also be a direct connection Zigbee (battery) → M2-> WiFi ← M3 ← Zigbee (battery). There can be several gateways in the system, but always remember that the connecting link between them is the router (the gateway does not “communicate” directly with the gateway). Therefore, if in your smart home somewhere physically (manually unplugged from the outlet or de-energized from the industrial network) some device that theoretically could be a repeater is disconnected, then the sensors disappear. Please note that after connecting the repeater (220 volts), the water leak sensor may appear in Aqara home in about an hour. It sends signals to the “I’m here” gateway about once an hour or instantly when “flooded”.
