Weak Zigbee Ntwork

Hi I have 3 temperature sensors and 12 leak sensors in my home. They all connect to an M3 hub. My leak sensor are spread around the house and are very flaky going in and out. The hub is in the basement and not the best location but the temperature sensor seemingly has no issue 10 feet away from a leak sensor. What can I do to strengthen my zigbee network?

The best you could do is to add one or more non-battery-powered-accessory to your Zigbee network. Since Zigbee is a mesh network and main powered accessories act as repeaters, something like an Aqara T2 bulb (in Zigbee mode) could go a long way

I heard some people use smart plugs, they are convenient because you can just plug it and forget

Hi, is it possible to measure and visualize the Zigbee signal strength of a network, similar to how we do for a Wi-Fi signal?

Any Zigbee device that is permanently powered by the network (with a neutral wire) acts as a repeater, extending the coverage area:

Smart Plugs: The easiest way to extend the signal in “dead” zones.

Switches with a neutral wire: Models like the Aqara H2 or T1 (with a neutral wire) become active nodes in the network.

Smart bulbs only work as routers if they are continuously powered by the wall switch.

My 4 leak sensors go offline a few times a day. It all started happening after migrating from E1 hub to M100. I tried an M200 but the problem persists. Now I’ve migrated them all back to my G3 Camera and while not perfect, it is better. I’m in a very small place, there’s no significant obstacles and Zigbee signal reads Excellent on all sensors. This happens to my motion sensors and buttons as well, but it’s the leak sensors that are the most problematic. GL.

I also have a problem with one of the two leak sensors and one door/window sensor. Although, I have several devices connected to DC power, and with a neutral wire.
