Hey everyone! I’ve been diving into creating some weekend-specific lighting automations and wanted to share my experience and ask for some advice. ![]()
So, I’ve got this setup where I use Govee lights for my kitchen and living room. During the weekdays, everything is pretty straightforward—lights turn on at 7 PM and off at 10 PM. But weekends are a different story! I’d love to have a more relaxed vibe, maybe with dimmer lights in the evenings and some colorful scenes for movie nights. However, I’m running into a bit of a snag with the scheduling. I tried duplicating my existing scenes in Simple Automation but ended up with some inconsistencies. Does anyone have tips on how to manage different settings for weekends without starting from scratch? ![]()
Another thing I’m curious about is how others handle motion sensor overrides. I’ve got a motion sensor in my kitchen that’s super handy during the day, but it’s a bit of a nuisance when we’re trying to keep the lights off at night. I’ve heard that Alexa can help with this, but I’m not entirely sure how to set it up so that the motion sensor doesn’t reactivate the lights once they’re turned off. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! ![]()
On a lighter note, I’ve been experimenting with Govee’s DIY features and have to say, they’re a blast! Turning my living room into a mini-lighting studio with different themes for each occasion has been so much fun. I’d love to hear how others are getting creative with their setups too! ![]()
Let’s keep the ideas flowing and help each other out with these smart home setups! Happy automating! ![]()
