I have an automation setup to turn on some LED strips on my stairs, using a pair of P2 sensors, one at the top and one at the bottom of the stairs. If it detects motion, only during certain darkness levels, it triggers some LED strips along the stairs to light up.

I have a sensor to turn on a light strip under our bedroom dresser when motioned is detected during the night. A soft red glow, low to the ground makes it easy to walk around the bed to use the bathroom or get up without waking my partner with bright light.

A simple motion in the basement stairwell that flashes a basement light so I know someone is coming downstairs. It’s saved me a ton of surprise and heart attack!!

What kind of motion sensor are you using? And what type of LED strip?
My FP300 detects if the humidity in the bathroom is more than 60%, powers the plug of an old dehumidifier if the window is closed and there is nobody in bathroom. If I open the window or the humidity drops to 60% the plug goes off.
The window sensor is the new Ikea’s matter one, the power strip is matter bought from AliExpress, everything integrated without problems in the Aqara hub.
