Just got the g410 and would like to use existing wiring. When I hook up the wiring the old chime rings continuously, so got a new doorbell transformer. Do I need a resistor too. Which one? Can I just disconnect the speaker on old chime and use the transformer on it?

Hi,
the reason your old chime rings continuously is that it works with a mechanical circuit that closes when you press the doorbell button — it’s not meant to have a constant current like the G410 requires.
You should disconnect or bypass the old chime completely and use the existing wires only to supply power from the transformer to the G410.
So basically: remove the old chime from the circuit, keep the transformer connected, and wire the two leads directly to the G410 terminals.
