What ideas are there on the forum for alternative use of the Aqara leak sensor with the addition of automation in the IF section

My greetings to everyone.
Preface.
The Aqara leak sensor is an underestimated device. The main advantage of this sensor is the electrodes that can be unscrewed and a wire that can be connected to the desired dry contact. We get a remote informer about the state of the surveyed signal.

I want to hear comments from forum members on ideas for alternative use of the leak sensor.
I have a big request to the developers of automation 2.0.
Hello Aqara team @Caroline_Zzz, @Yimin.AqaraApp, @AqaraOfficial, @Mandy.
Please open the options in the IF section for the Aqara leak sensor. Understand my desire, this will greatly expand the capabilities of this device and promote it on the market as an updated sensor.
It can be called “A device for monitoring the condition of an object or emergency flooding.” To confirm my suggestion, I give an example of lesson 20 ( Automation 2.0 lesson 20. Plugin for the Aqara leak sensor, water control in the pool (tank) ).
If there is a condition (dry, wet) in the IF section, this leak sensor will “play” in automation 2.0 with bright colors.
Examples of use:

  • information about the state (On/Off) of the dry relay contact;
  • closed open doors with a built-in mini switch;
  • control of the level of pumping/pumping water;

  • Thanks for the answer.

First hack I saw for these a while ago was a DIY pressure pad sensor:

Yeah, I have a few pressure sensors hooked up to Aqara leak sensors for chair occupancy. mmWave makes this somewhat unnecessary nowadays, but I see no reason to re-implement a functioning system.

Others have done a similar thing for bed occupancy, too.

I don’t know if it’s useful but i have been using a water leak sensor as a rain sensor in conbination with a luminance(temperature and humidity) outdoor sensor to automatize our electrical awnings.
If it starts raining the water leak sensor detects it and the awnings roll up. Same with the combination with the Outdoor sensor and the sunlight. In fact there are new water leak sensors from other brand that has an option to use it as a rain sensor.

Hope it helps.
