Just starting smart home. I have the M3 hub and want to put a non-Phillips Hue 1600 lumen bulb in my storage room along with an Aqara Door & Window sensor. What bulb is recommended: Govee, Lifx, etc fo r 1600 lumens?

Try to avoid WiFi Bulbs (if you can). It’s going to be difficult to beat the Hue 1600 bulb especially in a storage room where you don’t need fancy.

I have govee and hue. I wont buy another wifi bulb. Light bulbs just seem like the perfect place for a thread extender. If Aqara made a matter over thread B30 bulb, I would buy 6 of them today. Nanoleaf is sold out.

Aqara Bulb T2 (E27) has up to 1100 lumens. Are you able to replace the switch? Then maybe go for a more powerful dumb dimmable bulb and a smart switch/smart dimmer.

Would smart switch and dumb bulb enable the light to go on/off when entering/exiting the storage room in conjunction with the door & window sensor?

Yes. The main thing I consider is, how difficult would it be to strip all of my automations if, say, I sell my house? Changing out bulbs is easy. Lights in my home are mostly multi-switch, so I have to rewire two switches for each light.
P.S. I’m retired and really love my home, so this isn’t a problem I should be considering.
