Why Are Matter Firmware Updates Still Dependent on Aqara Home and Aqara Hubs?

Support will push the update and they seem to work fine, the motion sensor especially is more responsive.

Are they still doing that currently? I know that used to be the case, and then I advised at least two people here in the forum to contact support, with the result that support said:

Support Response:
“Currently, there is no publicly available firmware newer than the version already released for your device. The firmware you mentioned (1.0.3.0) has not yet been made available to the public through standard update channels and therefore cannot be installed through the standard process at this time.”

I got confirmation, today, that the latest official firmware is 1.0.0.0
