I’m trying to change my M100’s thread network to use the eero thread network since I have multiple eero products spread around my house and they each extend the thread network, but when attempting to import the thread network, it says that it found an Apple thread network and it’s preferred to use, but does not offer an option to use other thread networks in the credentials even though they are in the Apple keychain, I can’t remove the Apple thread credentials as when I try it never gets removed and jus stays there, how can I get it to use the eero thread network?
Whether devices can form a single, unified mesh depends on the version of Thread implemented by your border routers. Full cross-vendor interoperability, including the exchange of Thread network data between border routers, has only been standardised from Thread 1.3.0 onwards.
You can use an mDNS/Service Discovery app to check which Thread version your devices are using. Look for service entries of type _meshcop._udp.
The attribute ‘tv’ (Thread Version) can be found in the TXT records of these entries. If all your border routers show ‘tv=1.3’ or higher, then you have met the technical requirements for setting up a single, consistent Thread network in your smart home.
Bear in mind that this is a necessary requirement, but not a sufficient one.
