This year, I decided to get creative with my winter holiday lighting setup. I’ve always loved the idea of using smart home technology to control my lights, and this season was the perfect opportunity to dive in. 
I started by experimenting with floodlights as uplighting for my house. I was a bit unsure how they would look, but the results exceeded my expectations! I used vinyl siding hooks to hold the lights in place, and the effect is simply magical. I’ll be sharing more photos as I continue to decorate, but for now, I wanted to share some tips and tricks I’ve discovered along the way. 
One thing I’ve learned is the importance of layering lights. Combining different types of lights—like string lights, spotlights, and fairy lights—creates a warm and inviting atmosphere. Plus, integrating these lights with my smart home system has made it incredibly easy to control everything from my phone or a voice command.
