Wyze Bulb Cam & Battery Doorbell Firmware Update Experience

I’ve been using Wyze cameras for a while now, and I must say, their firmware updates have been a breath of fresh air. Just last week, I noticed some improvements on my Wyze Bulb Cam and Battery Video Doorbell, and I wanted to share my experience with the community.

First off, the Wyze Bulb Cam update addressed a couple of minor annoyances I was experiencing. The motion detection outside my window was occasionally triggering false alerts, but the latest update seems to have ironed that out. Plus, the image quality improvements are noticeable—even in low-light conditions, the footage is much clearer now. I’m especially impressed with how the camera handles unexpected battery drain issues. It used to hang occasionally, but that’s a thing of the past after this update.

Now, onto the Battery Video Doorbell. The connectivity improvements here are nothing short of fantastic. I live in an area with spotty Wi-Fi coverage, and the doorbell was frequently going offline. The new firmware has made the connection much more stable. I also love that the camera SDK update means my settings are saved properly now—no more losing my customizations after a restart. The video uploads to the cloud are smoother too, which is a huge plus for me.

One thing I’d love to see in future updates is better integration with other smart home devices. For example, having the doorbell automatically trigger my lights or thermostat would take the experience to the next level. But for now, I’m thoroughly satisfied with the enhancements.

If you’re a Wyze user, I highly recommend keeping an eye out for these firmware updates. They’re making smart home tech more reliable and user-friendly every day. Let me know if anyone else has had similar experiences or if there are features you’d like to see in future updates—I’m all ears!

Cheers,
