Hey everyone, I wanted to share my experience with the Wyze Cam Pan devices I recently purchased. While I was excited to set them up, I encountered some unexpected audio issues that have been quite frustrating. Let me walk you through my journey and see if anyone has encountered similar problems or found a solution.
First off, I updated the firmware to the latest version right out of the box, as I always prefer having the most up-to-date software. When I tested the two-way communication feature using the Wyze app on my phone, the audio quality was extremely low—it was almost impossible to hear anything clearly. I tried recording the audio output using an external recorder to capture the issue, and the results were disappointing to say the least.
However, here’s where things got interesting. I decided to test the audio functionality using a different method—installing the Wyze app on an Android emulator running on my laptop. To my surprise, the audio was clear and audible this time around. This inconsistency made me wonder if there was something specific about my phone that was causing the issue. But then again, I use other devices like a Ring Doorbell and a Wansview IP cam, and I don’t have any problems with their audio when using my phone.
I also noticed that both of my Wyze Cam Pan devices exhibit the same audio problem, which makes me think it might be a broader issue with the device’s firmware or software configuration. I reached out to Wyze support five days ago, but I’m still waiting for a response. In the meantime, I’m trying to find a workaround or a fix on my own.
I’m really hoping there’s a solution coming soon, as I don’t want to spend my weekend returning these devices. If anyone has encountered similar issues or has any insights or tips, I’d greatly appreciate hearing from you! Let’s see if we can figure this out together.
Cheers,
