Hi everyone, I’ve been using the Wyze Cam Outdoor V2 for a week now, and while I’m impressed with its features, I’ve encountered a couple of issues that I’d like to share and seek advice on.
First, regarding battery life—I was excited to hear the claim of up to six months, but after just seven days, one of my cameras is already at 63% battery. This seems concerning, especially since the camera spends most of its time in SD mode. I’ve tried cycling the power on the base station using a smart plug, which helped temporarily, but the issue persists. I’m wondering if others have experienced similar battery drain and if there are any tips to optimize battery life.
Secondly, the camera’s sensitivity to direct sunlight is a bit of a letdown. My previous outdoor cam handled partial sun without issues, but the V2 requires more shaded placement. This has forced me to use three cameras instead of two, which is inconvenient. I’m curious if anyone has found effective placement strategies or workarounds for this limitation.
I’d also love to hear if others have experienced the camera shutting down after a few days. It’s been frustrating, and I’m considering reaching out to customer support. However, I’d appreciate any firsthand experiences or solutions from the community.
Thanks in advance for your insights and suggestions! Let’s hope we can find a way to make the most of these cameras.
