I’ve been exploring the integration between Wyze cameras and Google Assistant, and I must say, it’s been a bit of a rollercoaster. Initially, I was thrilled to hear that Wyze devices could work with Google Assistant, especially for setting up routines. However, the reality has been a bit underwhelming. I’ve tried setting up routines where I can say, ‘Hey Google, turn on the Wyze Cam,’ expecting it to activate seamlessly. Unfortunately, it doesn’t quite work as smoothly as I’d hoped. Instead, I’ve noticed that Google categorizes Wyze devices under the ‘security system’ category, which isn’t recognized by default. This means I can’t easily include them in my routines without some extra steps. I’ve spent quite a bit of time troubleshooting, resetting devices, and even reinstalling apps, but the issue persists. I’m really hoping Wyze or Google can address this in future updates because having seamless integration would make my smart home setup so much more efficient. In the meantime, I’m resorting to controlling my Wyze cameras directly through the Wyze app, which works but isn’t the hands-free experience I was aiming for. Fingers crossed for a fix soon!
