Hey everyone, I wanted to share my experience with setting up motion detection on my Wyze cameras. I recently installed two Wyze cams to monitor my front door and backyard, and I must say, getting them to work seamlessly was a bit of a journey, but definitely worth it!
Initially, I faced some issues with the motion detection being too sensitive, especially with the wind causing false alarms. After some research and trial and error, I found a few tips that made a world of difference. First, adjusting the camera’s angle to avoid direct sunlight was crucial. Second, using the Wyze app’s advanced settings to fine-tune the motion sensitivity and exclude certain areas helped reduce those pesky false triggers.
I also discovered that placing the cameras slightly higher and away from direct wind paths made a significant impact. Plus, enabling the built-in motion blur reduction feature in the app helped with the shaky footage caused by wind. It’s amazing how a little tweaking can make such a big difference!
For anyone else setting up Wyze cams, I’d recommend spending some time in the app’s settings to customize the motion detection to your specific needs.
