I’ve been thoroughly enjoying my Wyze Cam OG Telephoto for its ability to cover my long driveway, but I’m running into some issues at night that I hope the community can help with. First and foremost, the night vision functionality isn’t detecting vehicles as advertised. The headlights from cars are causing the screen to go completely white, and I’m not receiving any notifications until the car is practically at my front door. This defeats the purpose of having the camera in the first place!
Another frustration is the instability of the Wyze Cam Portal for web viewing. I often have to click ‘reconnect’ multiple times just to get a live view of my cameras. When motion is detected and notifications are sent, the web view frequently freezes or drops frames. It would be fantastic if Wyze could improve the web portal’s stability or even release a desktop app for easier viewing.
I’ve tried adjusting the camera’s angle and sensitivity settings, but nothing seems to resolve the night vision issue. Has anyone else experienced this, and if so, did you find a workaround? I’m also curious if others have had success with the Telephoto model on long driveways at night.
On a more positive note, I truly believe in Wyze’s brand and the potential of their products. The yearly subscription I purchased was worth it for the features it unlocks, but these issues are holding the cameras back from being truly indispensable. I’m hopeful that with community feedback, Wyze can address these concerns in future updates.
