Hello everyone, I wanted to share my experience with the Wyze Cam Outdoor, as it has been both a fascinating and slightly challenging journey. I recently installed this camera, and while I am impressed with its features and the potential it holds, I have encountered a few issues that I hope to resolve with the help of this community.
First off, I must say that the Wyze Cam Outdoor is a sleek and compact device. The installation process was straightforward, and the initial setup via the Wyze app was smooth. However, I quickly noticed that the camera was not recording video or backing up footage to the SD card in the base station. This was a bit concerning, especially since I rely on my cameras for security. I double-checked the motion tracking settings, which were enabled, and even went through the trouble of deleting and reinstalling the app to see if that would help. For a brief moment, I received a notification about an event, but clicking on it only showed a live stream, not the recorded video. This was quite frustrating, as I was looking forward to using the camera’s recording capabilities.
Another issue I faced was related to the detection zone. I had set up a specific area to eliminate false triggers, but every car passing by still managed to set off an alert. It seemed like the detection zone was being ignored, which made the camera almost useless for my needs. I tried adjusting the settings multiple times, but the problem persisted. I reached out to customer support, and while they were helpful, the issue remained unresolved.
Despite these challenges, I still believe in the potential of the Wyze Cam Outdoor. The video quality is excellent, and the live stream is smooth. I also appreciate the app’s user-friendly interface and the ability to customize notifications. I would love to see some improvements in the future, such as more reliable recording functionality and better detection zone accuracy. These enhancements would make the camera even more versatile and reliable for everyday use.
I am considering expanding my Wyze camera setup, but I want to ensure that all issues are ironed out before investing further. If anyone has encountered similar problems or has advice on how to resolve them, I would greatly appreciate your insights. Let’s keep the conversation going and help each other make the most of our smart home devices!
Thank you for reading, and I look forward to hearing from you all. Stay safe and happy automating!
