Hey everyone, I wanted to share my recent experience with setting up Wyze Cams outdoors. While these cameras aren’t officially designed for outdoor use, I’ve found a great solution using third-party enclosures. I’ve been curious about how long these setups can last, so I decided to give it a try myself!
I currently have two Wyze Cams installed outside my home in Southern Maryland. The weather here can be pretty harsh—hot and humid summers, and cold winters with occasional snow. I chose two different enclosures from Amazon: one by Mrount and another by Deyard Direct. Both have been working well so far!
For Camera 1, I placed it under the soffit on my back deck. It’s been up for three months now, and the video quality remains consistent despite the weather. Camera 2 is on the front driveway, installed just a month ago. The enclosure here is a bit different but equally effective. I’m really impressed with how these enclosures have protected the cameras from the elements.
I’d love to hear from others who’ve tried similar setups! How long have your Wyze Cams been running outdoors? Did you use a specific enclosure brand? Any tips for maintaining video quality in different climates? Let’s share our experiences and help each other out!
For anyone considering this project, I’d recommend investing in a good enclosure and choosing a sheltered spot to mount the camera. It’s been a fun and practical way to monitor my property, and I’m excited to see how long these setups will last. Looking forward to your thoughts!
