I recently acquired the Wyze Cam Outdoor, and I’m thoroughly impressed with its build quality and ease of installation. The app setup was a breeze, and the video quality is excellent. However, I’ve encountered an issue with the night vision mode that I’m hoping the community can help me resolve.
The camera seems to be stuck between manual night vision settings—it’s either fully on or completely off. During daylight hours, if I attempt to switch from ‘Off’ to ‘Auto,’ the video feed turns grayscale, and the IR lights activate. Unfortunately, this behavior persists even after the sun has set, and I’m unable to get the camera to automatically switch to night vision mode based on ambient light conditions.
I’ve tried several troubleshooting steps, including power-cycling the device, reconfiguring the settings, and even completely removing and re-adding the camera to the network. Despite these efforts, the issue remains unresolved.
It’s worth noting that my other Wyze Pan cameras don’t exhibit this behavior, which suggests that the problem might be specific to the Outdoor model. I’m wondering if there’s a firmware update that could address this issue or if there’s a particular setting I might have overlooked during the configuration process.
Has anyone else experienced similar issues with their Wyze Cam Outdoor units? If so, I’d greatly appreciate any insights or workarounds you might be willing to share. My goal is to have the camera seamlessly transition between day and night modes without manual intervention, and I’m hopeful that there’s a solution out there.
Thank you in advance for your help and suggestions!
