Hey everyone, I’ve been experimenting with my Wyze Cam Outdoor in my barn, and I wanted to share my experience and ask a few questions. I’ve set up a solar panel and 12V power supply in the barn, and I’d love to hook the camera up to this power source to avoid constantly charging it. However, I noticed in the specs that it’s not recommended to provide continuous power. I’m wondering if this could cause any issues in the long run. Also, is 5V 1A the correct power supply for a maintenance charge like this?
Another thing I’m curious about is whether the camera will function while it’s charging. I’ve heard mixed opinions on this, so I’d appreciate any insights from those who’ve tried it. I’m really enjoying the camera’s features, especially the internal battery and outdoor design, but I’d love to make the setup more seamless.
If anyone has successfully integrated their Wyze Cam Outdoor with a continuous power supply, I’d love to hear about your setup and any tips you might have. Thanks in advance for your help! ![]()
