For instance, if motion is detected within the central 110 degrees of the camera’s 150-degree field of view, maybe it could avoid panning altogether. Only when movement is near the edges or moving out of the frame should it smoothly adjust to follow the action. This would make the panning feel more natural and less like a jittery surveillance camera.
Another feature I’d love to see is an extended recording option. Currently, the 12-second detection notification is great, but I’d like the camera to continue recording until the motion has completely stopped. I’m thinking of calling this “Event PLUS” mode—it would record the initial event and keep rolling until everything is calm again. This would be especially useful for capturing the full duration of any activity without missing a moment.
I’d also appreciate some user control over the sensitivity and detection zones. Maybe a more intuitive interface where I can adjust settings based on the environment, like reducing sensitivity near windows where drafts might trigger false alarms. Customizable detection zones could help focus on high-traffic areas while ignoring less critical spaces.
On a positive note, the Wyze Cam Pan’s video quality and integration with my smart home ecosystem have been flawless. The app is user-friendly, and the two-way audio feature is a huge plus for security and convenience. These cameras have definitely upped my home security game!
