Wyze Cam V2 Baby Monitor Experience and Screen Timeout Fix

Hey everyone, I wanted to share my experience with the Wyze Cam V2 as a baby monitor. It’s been a lifesaver for keeping an eye on my little one while I’m away. However, I’ve encountered an issue that’s been a bit frustrating. After the latest firmware update in April, the screen times out after just 30 seconds. This is inconvenient, especially when I need to monitor my baby for extended periods without constant interaction.

I’ve tried a few workarounds, like streaming via RTSP, which does keep the feed active, but it’s not ideal for my setup. I was hoping Wyze might address this in a future update, but in the meantime, I’ve found that setting the camera to motion-only mode helps reduce the timeout frequency. It’s not a perfect solution, but it’s better than nothing.

I also wanted to mention that I came across some tips from the community about adjusting the settings to prolong the active session. It’s great to see how supportive and resourceful this community is. If anyone has other suggestions or solutions, I’d love to hear them!

On a positive note, I’ve been impressed with the overall performance of the Wyze Cam V2. The video quality is excellent, and the motion detection is reliable. It’s definitely a worthwhile investment for any parent looking for a reliable baby monitor. I’m hopeful that Wyze will resolve the timeout issue soon, but in the meantime, I’m grateful for the workaround solutions shared by others.

Thanks for reading, and happy monitoring everyone!
