I recently acquired a Wyze Cam v2, and I’m thrilled with its features and performance. However, I encountered a frustrating issue where one of my cameras failed to connect to my home network. Despite having three other Wyze Cam v2s working seamlessly, this new camera kept timing out during setup. Here’s what I did to troubleshoot the issue:
-
Checked Network Settings: I ensured my router was set to 2.4GHz and reviewed the DHCP logs for any clues. The logs showed repeated connection attempts and disassociations, which suggested a potential RF interference or signal strength issue.
-
Reset the Camera: After trying different microSD cards, USB cables, and power sources, I performed a factory reset by holding the button for 20 seconds. This didn’t resolve the issue immediately, but it was a necessary step.
-
Reviewed Logs: I extracted logs from my router and noticed the camera’s MAC address was disconnecting frequently. This led me to suspect a possible firmware issue or compatibility problem with my network setup.
-
Seeking Solutions: I reached out to the Wyze community and found others experiencing similar issues. Some suggested trying older firmware versions, while others recommended resetting the router or using a different Wi-Fi channel. I’m currently exploring these options and will update the community once I find a resolution.
If anyone has successfully troubleshooted a similar issue, I’d greatly appreciate your insights! Let’s work together to crack this puzzle.
