Wyze Cam v2 Event Recording Troubleshooting and Solution

I’ve recently set up the Wyze Cam v2, and while the initial setup was smooth, I encountered an issue with the event recording feature. The live feed works perfectly, but I noticed that motion detection wasn’t triggering recordings. This was puzzling since I compared my settings with a friend who has multiple Wyze v2 cams, and everything seemed correctly configured on my end.

After some research and trial and error, I discovered that the issue might be related to the phone’s notification settings. Even though I had notifications enabled for the Wyze app, it turned out that specific notification types were being blocked by my phone’s settings. Once I adjusted the notification settings to allow all notifications from the Wyze app, the event recording started working as expected.

This experience taught me the importance of thoroughly checking notification settings, especially on older devices like my Galaxy Note 5 running Android 7.0. It’s easy to overlook such details, but they can significantly impact functionality. I’m now able to enjoy seamless motion detection and recording, which has greatly enhanced my home security setup.
