Wyze Cam v2 Power Extension Solution & Tips

Hey everyone! I wanted to share my experience with the Wyze Cam v2 power extension issue and how I resolved it, in case anyone else is facing the same problem. :jigsaw::sparkles:

So, I recently moved my Wyze Cam v2 to a new location, which meant I needed to extend the power cable. I purchased Wyze’s 20’ extension cable, but here’s the catch—it came with standard USB 1.1 connectors, which don’t fit the mini-A USB port on the camera. At first, I was a bit frustrated, but I decided to figure this out!

After some research, I found that the solution was to use a USB adapter that converts the standard USB 1.1 connectors to a mini-A USB. I ended up buying a pack of these adapters online, and they worked like a charm! :raised_hands: Now, my camera is up and running in its new spot without any issues.

For anyone else dealing with similar problems, here are a few tips:

  • Always check the connector types before purchasing extensions or adapters.
  • If you’re unsure, look for adapters that are specifically designed for your device.
  • Don’t hesitate to ask for help in forums like this one—someone might have already solved your problem! :speech_balloon:

I hope this helps someone out there! Let me know if you have any questions or alternative solutions.
