Hey everyone, I wanted to share my recent experience with the Wyze Cam V2 and some troubleshooting tips in case anyone else runs into similar issues. Hopefully, this can help someone out there!
So, I recently purchased two Wyze Cam V2 cameras from Amazon.com.mx. Everything seemed to go smoothly during setup, but when I tried to insert an SD card, both cameras gave me the error message ‘SD card not detected or not in.’ At first, I thought it might be a faulty SD card, so I tried multiple brands—ADATA, SanDisk, Kingston, and even Sony—all in different capacities (32GB and 16GB). They were all Class 10 cards, which I know are compatible with most security cameras. Unfortunately, none of them worked with the new cameras, even though they all worked perfectly with my older Wyze Cam V2!
I decided to dig deeper into the issue. I tried inserting the SD cards with both the old and new firmware on the cameras, but the problem persisted. The older camera even made a noise when I inserted the SD card, which the new ones didn’t. This made me think there might be a hardware issue with the new cameras, but I wasn’t sure.
After some research, I found that others were experiencing similar problems. It seems like there might be an issue with the SD card slot or firmware on the newer Wyze Cam V2 models. While I didn’t find a definitive solution, here are some steps I took that might help others:
-
Check SD Card Compatibility: Ensure your SD cards are Class 10 and within the recommended capacity range. Sometimes, even if a card is Class 10, it might not be compatible for some reason.
-
Try Different SD Cards: If one card doesn’t work, try another. Sometimes it’s just a matter of finding the right card.
-
Update Firmware: Make sure your camera firmware is up to date. While this didn’t solve the issue for me, it might help others.
-
Contact Support: If all else fails, reach out to Wyze support. They were helpful when I asked for replacements, and the new cameras I received worked perfectly with the same SD cards!
In the end, getting replacements from Amazon solved my problem. I’m glad I didn’t give up, and I hope this post can save someone else some time and frustration. If anyone has additional tips or solutions, I’d love to hear them!
Cheers,
