I recently encountered an issue with my Wyze Cam V3 where motion events were split between cloud and SD card recording. The first 12 seconds were recorded to the cloud, and the rest to the SD card, which was quite frustrating. I reached out to Wyze support and found that this behavior is by design, with the camera capturing a 12-second alert video every five minutes and using the SD card for extended footage. While this functionality works as intended, it doesn’t meet my needs for full event recording on the SD card. I’m now exploring alternative cameras that offer continuous SD card recording without splitting events. If anyone has recommendations or solutions, I’d greatly appreciate the input!
