Hey everyone, I wanted to share my recent experience with modifying the PEF Outdoor Cases for my Wyze Cam V3s. After procuring a set of these cases for my Wyze Cam Outdoors, I decided to try fitting them with my new V3 cameras. The process was surprisingly straightforward! I simply added a small 1/4" pad of cardboard on the back wall of the housing and a wooden base to center the V3 in the front hole. The fit is perfect, and the housings are really nice, with a bump-out in the back for the micro USB power connector.
Next, I had my son create a small hood extension for the PEF housing using his 3D printer. With some 3M outdoor double-sided tape, I was able to increase the hood well over 1" and could have gone further if I wanted. If anyone needs additional information on my mods or wants the 3D printer file, feel free to reach out!
It’s amazing how a little creativity and some basic tools can really enhance your setup. I’m excited to see how others might adapt these ideas for their own projects. Happy tinkering! ![]()
