Wyze Cam V3 Sound Event Recording Setup Guide

Hello everyone! I recently got a Wyze Cam V3 and set it up to record on sound detection. While I don’t need notifications, I wanted to be able to listen to the recordings. After some research and experimentation, I figured out how to do this from the app. Here’s what I learned:

  1. Recording Settings: Go to the camera’s settings in the Wyze app. Under the ‘Motion Detection’ section, you can enable sound detection. This ensures that the camera records whenever it detects noise.

  2. Local Storage: I wanted the recordings saved locally on the SD card instead of the cloud. Unfortunately, it seems like this feature isn’t available yet. However, I found that the app still allows me to access the recordings from my device, which works for my needs.

  3. Playback: To listen to the recordings, simply go to the ‘Activity’ tab in the app. You’ll see all the recorded events. Tap on an event to play the audio or video.

  4. Tips: If you’re using multiple cameras, organizing them by location or name helps keep track of recordings. Also, make sure your SD card has enough space to store all the clips.

I hope this helps someone else who’s trying to set up their Wyze Cam V3 for sound detection and recording. If you have any questions or tips, feel free to share them below! Happy smart home setup! :dart:
