Wyze Cam V4 Issues: Seeking Solutions for Offline Status and Camera Control

Hey everyone, I’ve been really enjoying my Wyze Cam V4 cameras, but I’ve run into a couple of issues that I’m hoping the community can help me with. First, I want to share my experience with these cameras because they’ve been a great addition to my home security setup. The video quality is excellent, and the motion detection works like a charm. However, there are a couple of quirks that I’m hoping to resolve.

The first issue I’m facing is that one of my cameras occasionally shows as ‘offline’ on the device preview screen in the Wyze app. This is a bit confusing because when I click on the camera, it still streams live video perfectly. I’ve tried restarting the camera remotely and clearing the app cache, but the issue persists. I’m wondering if anyone else has experienced this and if there’s a fix or workaround. It would be great if the preview screen could reflect the actual online status more accurately.

The second issue I’m dealing with is related to controlling the camera’s power. I’ve noticed that sometimes when I try to turn the camera off from the app, it doesn’t respond, and the operation fails. This is a bit concerning because I’d like to be able to manage the camera’s power settings without having to physically unplug it, which isn’t ideal. I’ve also checked the firmware, and it’s up to date, but I’m not sure if there’s anything else I can do to resolve this.

I’m really curious to hear if others have faced similar issues and if there are any solutions or tips that I might have missed. I’d also love to know if updating the firmware or resetting the camera to factory settings could help. Any insights would be greatly appreciated!

On a positive note, I’ve been impressed with how Wyze continues to improve their products and integrate new features. The Cam V4’s ability to detect motion and people without relying on cloud services is a huge plus, and I’m hopeful that these minor issues can be ironed out with some community support or future updates. Thanks in advance for any help or advice you can offer!
