Wyze Camera Activity LED Concerns

Hi everyone, I recently installed a Wyze camera in my home for added security, and I must say, I’m really impressed with the overall functionality and ease of use. However, there’s one feature that’s been on my mind and I wanted to share my thoughts about it. The activity LED on the camera is something I’ve been trying to figure out how to manage effectively.

While the LED serves a purpose in indicating when the camera is active, I’ve found that its placement makes it difficult to see unless you’re specifically looking for it. This has led to some concerns about privacy, especially since my girlfriend often visits and feels uneasy knowing the camera is pointed at her. I’ve tried covering the LED with a small piece of tape, but it’s not a perfect solution and doesn’t fully address the issue.

I understand that some users might find the LED too bright, but in my experience, it’s the opposite—it’s too subtle. I believe that if the LED were more visible, it could actually enhance privacy by making it clear when the camera is active. This way, everyone in the home would feel more secure and informed about when the camera is in use.

I’ve reached out to Wyze support about this, and while they’ve been helpful, I’m still hoping for a more permanent solution. Perhaps in future firmware updates, Wyze could consider making the LED more prominent or offering additional settings to customize its visibility.

Overall, I’m really happy with the Wyze camera and the peace of mind it provides, but addressing this small concern could make it even better for users like me who value both security and privacy. Thanks for reading, and I’d love to hear others’ thoughts or experiences with this feature!
