Hey everyone, I’m reaching out to see if anyone has encountered and resolved an issue I’m facing with my Wyze cameras. I’ve been using them extensively for home security, and they’ve been a great addition to my setup. However, I’ve stumbled upon a problem that’s been quite frustrating.
The issue revolves around the ‘Monitoring’ feature and the ‘Snooze’ bell functionality. When I enable ‘Monitoring’ to receive critical notifications that bypass ‘Do Not Disturb’, it seems to override all my existing automation rules, including the ‘Snooze’ bell. This has turned into a significant inconvenience, especially during nighttime.
Here’s a scenario that illustrates the problem: Imagine it’s late at night, and I need to step out briefly to retrieve the mail. Ideally, I’d disable the monitoring to avoid unnecessary alerts, but doing so sends a push notification that wakes up my partner. If I leave the monitoring active, any camera movement triggers alerts that bypass ‘Do Not Disturb’, waking everyone up. The ‘Snooze’ bell, which was supposed to provide a temporary quiet period, doesn’t seem to function when monitoring is enabled.
I’ve tried reaching out to Wyze support, but the response has been less than helpful. It’s been several months since this issue started, and it’s become a daily nuisance. I’m hoping the community might have some workarounds or solutions that I haven’t considered yet.
For context, I have 36 Wyze cameras on my plan, which makes this issue even more impactful. The options I’m left with are less than ideal: either risk waking everyone up, train the household to ignore security alerts, or turn off all phone sounds, which isn’t practical.
If anyone has successfully navigated this issue or has any insights, I’d be incredibly grateful for your input. Let’s see if we can find a way to have both reliable monitoring and functional snooze capabilities without disrupting the household!
Thanks in advance for your help and suggestions!
