Wyze Camera Night Light Setup: A Success Story

As a homeowner with a disability, I rely heavily on my smart home devices to make my life easier. One of my favorite gadgets is the Wyze camera, especially since it’s Google Home compatible. I recently faced a challenge with setting up my Wyze camera as a night light, and I wanted to share my experience in case it helps others.

Initially, I tried setting up a rule for the light to turn on at 7 PM and off at 7 AM. It worked for the first two hours, but then it turned off. I spent hours researching and adjusting settings, but nothing seemed to work. Frustrated, I decided to try a different approach.

I stumbled upon IFTTT (If This Then That) and decided to give it a shot. I created a simple applet that triggers the Wyze camera’s night light mode at sunset and turns it off at sunrise. To my delight, it worked perfectly! The lights now stay on all night, providing me with the security and convenience I need.

This experience taught me the importance of exploring alternative solutions when faced with smart home challenges. It also highlighted the value of community forums, where I found the solution that worked for me. I’m now more confident in troubleshooting future issues and sharing my knowledge with others.

If anyone else is struggling with their Wyze camera setup, don’t hesitate to reach out. Let’s continue to support each other in making our homes smarter and more accessible!
