Hello everyone, I’m reaching out for some help with my Wyze cameras. I’ve been using them for a while now, and they’ve been working great. However, recently I’ve noticed that the notifications aren’t coming through as they should. It’s a bit concerning because I rely on these notifications for security purposes.
I first noticed the issue a few days ago when I didn’t receive a notification for motion detected in my backyard. I checked the app, and everything seemed to be connected properly. I decided to test the notifications by triggering the camera manually, but still, nothing came through. I tried the same process on another Wyze camera I have, and it worked fine, so it seems like the issue is specific to this particular camera.
I’ve tried several troubleshooting steps to resolve the problem. First, I restarted the camera by unplugging it and plugging it back in. That didn’t help. Next, I checked the Wi-Fi connection to ensure the camera was still connected to my network. It was, so I decided to reset the camera to factory settings and reconfigure it. Unfortunately, that didn’t solve the issue either.
I also reviewed the notification settings in the Wyze app to make sure notifications were enabled for that specific camera. They were, so I’m not sure what else could be causing the problem. I even uninstalled and reinstalled the Wyze app on my phone, but the notifications still aren’t working.
I’m starting to think there might be a software issue with the camera itself or perhaps a bug in the Wyze app. I’ve checked the Wyze support forums, and it seems like others have experienced similar problems, but I haven’t found a definitive solution yet.
If anyone has encountered this issue before and managed to resolve it, I would greatly appreciate your advice. I’m considering reaching out to Wyze customer support, but I wanted to see if there’s anything else I can try first.
Some possible solutions I’ve come across include:
- Ensuring the camera firmware is up to date.
- Checking for any network restrictions that might be blocking notifications.
- Verifying that the phone’s notification settings aren’t blocking Wyze notifications.
I’ve already checked the firmware and updated it if necessary, but I’ll double-check just in case. I’m also looking into my phone’s notification settings to make sure Wyze isn’t being blocked.
