I’ve been absolutely thrilled with my recent purchase of the Wyze Camera Outdoor (WCO)! After being skeptical about its wireless capabilities, I’m happy to share that it’s exceeded all my expectations. The setup was incredibly straightforward, and once connected to my router via Ethernet, the signal strength amazed me. It provided excellent coverage throughout my home and even extended to the perimeter outside, which was a pleasant surprise.
To enhance the range further, I decided to test an extender as suggested on the forums. Interestingly, the extender worked perfectly in the opposite direction, functioning almost like a wireless bridge. By relocating the Base Station to my garage and connecting it to the extender via Ethernet, I achieved the coverage I needed to monitor my long driveway effectively.
While I still hope Wyze will offer a wireless Base Station option in the future, the current setup has been nothing short of fantastic. The video quality is crisp, and the motion detection is reliable. The only minor downside is the lack of a built-in microphone, but for my needs, this hasn’t been an issue.
Overall, I’m incredibly satisfied with the Wyze Camera Outdoor. It’s rare to find a product that not only meets but surpasses expectations, and this definitely falls into that category.
