Wyze Camera Playback Experience & Workaround

Hey everyone, I wanted to share my experience with the Wyze camera playback feature. While I love my Wyze cameras for their convenience and value, I’ve been really frustrated with the playback functionality. The videos are recorded in 1-minute segments, which makes reviewing footage a tedious process. You can’t fast forward through the clips, and it’s impossible to watch them continuously. It’s especially annoying when trying to review a night’s footage or monitor the backyard over an extended period.

I completely understand that Wyze might have design considerations, but this limitation does feel like a missed opportunity. I’ve reached out to their support, and while they’ve been responsive, there hasn’t been any progress on this front yet.

In the meantime, I’ve found a workaround using the AVS4YOU video converter. By transferring the microSD card to my computer, I can merge the 1-minute segments into one continuous file. This allows me to watch the footage in real-time or even fast forward through it. It’s not an ideal solution, but it does the trick for now.

I’d love to hear if anyone else has found a better workaround or has suggestions for how Wyze could improve this feature. Maybe adding aCast button for streaming to the TV would also be a great addition! Let’s keep the conversation going and see if we can push for some improvements.

Overall, I’m still a big fan of Wyze cameras, but this playback issue is definitely something they should prioritize. Hopefully, they’ll consider our feedback and make some enhancements in the future. Thanks for listening, and I look forward to hearing your thoughts!
