Hi all, I’ve been experimenting with Wyze cameras and setting up rules for motion detection and notifications. It’s been a bit of a learning curve, but I’m starting to get the hang of it. I wanted to share my experiences and ask for some advice to help others who might be facing similar issues.
First, I tried setting up rules using the Wyze app. I noticed that while the app has a lot of features, scheduling capabilities are quite limited. For instance, I wanted to set my porch light to turn on at sunset and off at 10 PM, but the app didn’t seem to support this directly. I ended up using IFTTT as a workaround, but it’s not as seamless as I hoped. If anyone has tips on how to achieve this within the Wyze app, I’d love to hear them!
Another challenge I faced was connecting my Wyze Pan camera to my Google Nest Hub. I heard it was possible, but I couldn’t find any login forms or settings in the Wyze app to make this happen. I tried reaching out to support, but they didn’t have much information either. Has anyone successfully integrated their Wyze cameras with a Nest Hub? Any steps or settings I might have missed?
I also noticed some quirks with the motion detection on my Wyze cameras. Sometimes, the lights would only partially turn on, or the camera wouldn’t record the full motion event. It was frustrating because the app showed the switch was on, but the light wasn’t working. After some troubleshooting, I realized the camera needed to be turned on in the app for the sensors to work properly. It’s a small detail, but it made a big difference!
Lastly, I’m curious about others’ experiences with Wyze bulbs. I have a few that randomly flash during the night, which is a bit unsettling. I’m considering replacing them but want to find reliable Zigbee bulbs that also act as repeaters. Any recommendations on brands or models that work well with Wyze and other Zigbee devices?
Overall, Wyze cameras and bulbs are great for their price, but there’s definitely room for improvement in features and integration. I’d love to hear how others have worked around these issues or any tips for getting the most out of Wyze devices. Thanks for sharing your experiences!
