Wyze Camera V3 Playback Issues on iPhone 13 Mini

Hey everyone, I wanted to share my experience with the Wyze Camera V3 playback issue on my iPhone 13 Mini. It’s been a bit frustrating, but I finally found a workaround that might help others facing the same problem.

So, the issue started a couple of weeks ago. My husband, who uses an Android, had no trouble with the playback controls on our Wyze V3 cameras. But whenever I tried to play back videos on my iPhone, I kept getting the error message: ‘Operation Failed.’ At first, I thought it might be a temporary glitch, but it persisted even after I tried reformatting the SD cards, switching to different SD cards, and deleting and re-adding the cameras. I even went as far as deleting and reinstalling the Wyze app, but nothing worked.

I reached out to Wyze support, but they haven’t been able to resolve the issue yet. It was really disheartening because I rely on these cameras for security, and not being able to review footage is a big inconvenience.

After some research and trial and error, I discovered that the problem seems to be specific to the iPhone 13 Mini. Some users on forums mentioned similar issues with video playback on newer iPhone models. While Wyze hasn’t officially addressed this yet, I found that using an external USB drive instead of the SD card fixed the playback issue for me. It’s not the most ideal solution, but it gets the job done.

I hope Wyze can look into this issue soon and provide a proper fix. In the meantime, if anyone else is struggling with playback on their iPhone, I recommend trying an external USB drive as a workaround. It might save you some frustration!

Thanks for reading, and I’m happy to help if anyone has questions or needs advice on their Wyze setup.
