Hello everyone, I wanted to share my recent experience with my Wyze cameras. About a week ago, I had to reset my cameras due to a change in my Wi-Fi information. After the reset, I noticed that the short video clips associated with events were no longer available—only pictures were showing up. This was quite frustrating because the pictures alone didn’t provide enough context to understand what triggered the events.
I reached out to Wyze support, and while they were helpful, it seemed like this issue might be a known limitation or a bug. After some research, I found that others were experiencing similar problems, especially after resetting their devices. I decided to explore alternative solutions and discovered that using a third-party app or service to record video clips might be a workaround.
I also realized that ensuring the cameras are always connected to the internet is crucial for maintaining video functionality. I ended up setting up a more reliable network setup and using a cloud storage service to manually back up important videos. While this isn’t an ideal solution, it has helped me regain some control over my camera footage.
