Wyze Camera WiFi Credentials Retention

I’ve been really enjoying my Wyze cameras for their reliability and ease of use. However, I’ve noticed a recurring issue where the cameras lose their WiFi credentials after a certain period. This means I have to reconfigure them every few weeks, which is a bit of a hassle. I’ve heard that using nVRam to retain credentials beyond the built-in period might help, but I’m not entirely sure how to implement this effectively.

I’ve also been working on a project to create a remote switch for a solar-powered setup, which involves a battery box and a buck converter to maintain a steady 5V supply. The idea is to power off the cameras when there’s no web request for a while, but I’m concerned about the potential loss of WiFi credentials during these periods. The cameras have already lost their settings three times, and with extended periods between web requests, this could become a significant issue.

I’ve completed the coding part and am ready to install the setup in my shed for beta testing, but I want to ensure that the WiFi credentials remain intact. If anyone has successfully used nVRam for this purpose or has alternative solutions, I’d love to hear about your experiences and tips!

Looking forward to your insights and hoping to find a reliable solution soon. Thanks in advance for your help!
