As a homeowner and a handyman, I’ve been using Wyze cameras for a while now, and they’ve been a great addition to my security setup. But I’ve noticed something that could really improve the experience, especially for professionals like me who install these devices for others.
Currently, when I install a Wyze cam for a customer, I have to use their phone to set it up. While most of my customers are home during the installation, it’s still a bit awkward for them to hand over their phone to a stranger. Imagine installing cameras at a vacation home where the customer isn’t present—I’d have to set up a separate account, install the cameras, and then share them with the customer. This process leaves a lot of trust involved, which isn’t ideal.
A professional installer app would solve this problem. It could allow me to set up cameras using my phone, share them with the customer, and notify them once my access is revoked. This would make the process smoother and more secure for everyone involved.
I’d love to hear from others who might have similar experiences or suggestions. Has anyone found a workaround or a feature that could help streamline this process? Let’s discuss how we can make this a reality for both installers and customers!
