Wyze Cameras Going Offline: My Experience and Resolution

I recently encountered an unusual issue with my Wyze cameras, and I wanted to share my experience in case it helps others. I have a total of five cameras set up across two locations, which have been working perfectly until now. One evening, all five cameras suddenly went offline simultaneously. This was puzzling because I hadn’t made any changes to the network settings or the cameras themselves.

I started troubleshooting by checking the app, refreshing the page, and ensuring there were no network issues. After about 35 minutes, the cameras began coming back online one by one. However, the strangest part was that the event recording settings on two of my remote cameras had been turned off, even though I didn’t make any changes. This was a bit concerning, as I’m the only one with access to the account.

After some research, I suspect this might have been a server-side issue with Wyze, possibly a maintenance or reset during off-hours. It’s rare for all cameras to go offline at once, especially across two different locations. Thankfully, all cameras are now back online, and I’ve re-enabled the recording settings.

This incident taught me the importance of regularly checking camera settings and having a backup plan in case of server issues. If you’re experiencing similar problems, I recommend reaching out to Wyze support or checking their status page for any ongoing maintenance.

Overall, while it was a bit stressful, it’s reassuring to know that the cameras recovered on their own without any major intervention. I’m glad to have this resolved and back to enjoying the peace of mind my Wyze cameras provide!
