Hey everyone, I’m reaching out because I’m really struggling with the person detection feature on my Wyze cameras. I have two cats, and one of them consistently triggers the person detection alerts. It’s incredibly frustrating because it’s leading to a lot of false positives, making the feature almost useless for me.
The cat in question is grey with white rear legs, while the other cat has the same leg color but doesn’t trigger the alerts. Both have four legs and a tail, which makes me wonder why the AI is having such a hard time distinguishing them from actual people. I mean, who has four legs and a tail? Not exactly a common trait among humans!
It’s especially amusing when the AI identifies the white-legged cat as a person when it jumps off the dining room table. This makes me curious about how the AI would react to people diving into pools or jumping off bridges. Would it still trigger a person detection event in those scenarios?
I’m really hoping someone out there has encountered a similar issue and found a workaround. Wyze and their AI vendor have had a long time to fix this, and it’s starting to feel like they’re dragging their feet. Any insights or solutions would be greatly appreciated!
