Hey everyone, I’ve been thinking about a product idea that I believe could really enhance the Wyze ecosystem. Imagine a Wyze connectivity box designed specifically for wired cameras, particularly PoE cameras and pan-tilt models. By integrating these cameras into the box, users could effortlessly power and control them via the Wyze app. This setup would allow current Wyze users to expand their camera setups with advanced features like enhanced zoom, follow-pan, and thermal imaging without needing additional apps.
Another useful addition could be an HDMI input port, enabling third-party DVR systems to connect and stream footage directly to the Wyze app. While this would mean losing direct camera control, it’s a great way to consolidate monitoring. An HDMI output port would also be fantastic, allowing users to connect the system to a monitor or TV for a comprehensive view of all cameras, both Wyze and third-party.
This box could also serve as a hub for Wyze sensors and lights, streamlining home automation. I’d love to hear if anyone else has considered similar ideas or if there are any potential challenges they foresee with such a setup. Let’s brainstorm together!
