Hey everyone, I wanted to share my recent experience with my Wyze devices and the journey I took to resolve some connectivity issues. I hope this might help someone else who’s going through a similar situation!
Over the past two weeks, I noticed that several of my Wyze devices—specifically my 2019 white bulbs, a color bulb, the sprinkler, and an outdoor plug—were disconnecting simultaneously throughout the day. Sometimes it happened once a day, and other times it would occur twice. This was quite frustrating because I rely on these devices for my daily routines and home automation setup.
I started by checking the obvious things: firmware updates, router logs, and other connected devices. All my devices were up to date, and my router logs showed no issues. Interestingly, my other home automation systems, like WeMo and Harmony, were working perfectly fine. This made me think it was something specific to the Wyze ecosystem.
I tried a few troubleshooting steps:
- Rebooting the Router: This didn’t seem to help consistently. Sometimes the devices would reconnect on their own after a few hours, but other times I had to manually delete and reconnect each device through the iOS app.
- Checking Firmware Updates: All devices were already on the latest firmware, so no luck there.
- Testing with Other Devices: Since my other systems were working fine, I ruled out the router or network as the main issue.
After some research, I came across a few community suggestions that mentioned potential firmware bugs or connectivity issues within the Wyze app itself. I decided to try a full reset of my Wyze account and reconfigure all devices from scratch. Surprisingly, this seemed to resolve the issue for now!
I thought I’d share my experience in case someone else is dealing with similar problems. If you’re experiencing random disconnects with your Wyze devices, it might be worth exploring account settings or reaching out to Wyze support for further assistance.
Thanks to everyone in the community for your insights and support! It’s great to be part of such a helpful and knowledgeable group. ![]()
