Hey everyone, I wanted to share my experience with mounting the Wyze Motion Sensor. I’ve been using it for a while now, and it’s a fantastic device for monitoring my home. However, finding the right way to mount it without damaging my walls or compromising the sensor’s functionality was a bit of a challenge. Here’s what I discovered!
The Challenge
I’ve tried a few different mounting solutions in the past, but none seemed to fit perfectly. I wanted something that was both secure and aesthetically pleasing. After some research and experimentation, I stumbled upon a couple of products that worked wonders.
The Solution

Velcro Hangables Small Hooks: These hooks are almost the perfect width to adhere to the backside of the Wyze Motion Sensor. They come with Command Strip-style adhesives, which are great for temporary or semi-permanent installations. The hooks are slightly angled, which helps in positioning the sensor at the optimal angle.

Ook Picture Hangers: For a more permanent solution, I opted for these large brass-plated picture hangers. They provide a sturdy base and allow for precise angle adjustments. I used Velcro Removable Wall Fasteners to secure the sensor to the hanger, ensuring a clean and secure mount.
The Results
Both solutions worked exceptionally well, but the Ook hangers with Velcro fasteners proved to be the most versatile. I was able to paint the hangers to match my wall color, making them almost invisible. The cost was minimal—around $1.50 per mount, including adhesives. Plus, the process was straightforward and didn’t require any specialized tools.
Tips for Others
- Angle Adjustment: Don’t be afraid to tweak the angle of the hanger slightly. This can make a big difference in the sensor’s coverage area.
- Adhesive Placement: Make sure to place the Velcro squares inside the padded circle on the sensor’s back to ensure a clean and secure adhesion.
- Painting: If you’re using metal hangers, consider painting them to match your wall color. It adds a professional touch and blends seamlessly into your decor.
Final Thoughts
