I’ve been experimenting with the Wyze PanCam v3 and have encountered a couple of interesting behaviors that I wanted to share and see if others have experienced something similar.
First, I noticed that if I move the camera too quickly during panning, it tends to freeze and go offline. It’s a bit frustrating, but I’ve learned to be more patient with the movements. A quick power cycle usually sorts it out.
The second thing I found intriguing is that the camera continues to record to the SD card even when it’s offline. However, when I try to playback the footage from the offline period, it plays back at about 10x speed. It’s almost like a sped-up version of the events that happened while the camera was offline. I can start playback just before the camera went offline, and at the moment it disconnects, the video jumps to fast-forward mode. After I power cycle the camera, playback resumes at normal speed.
While this 10x speed feature isn’t something I’d use regularly, it was kind of handy to review the offline period quickly. I wish there was an option to toggle this feature on or off.
Has anyone else noticed this behavior? I’d love to hear if others have experienced similar things or if there’s a way to adjust this functionality.
Cheers,
