Hello everyone! I wanted to share my recent experience with my Wyze Plugs, hoping it might help others facing similar issues. I purchased four Wyze Plugs over the past year, excited by their affordability and smart features. However, I encountered some frustrating connectivity problems.
Initially, the plugs worked perfectly, but over time, they began losing connection randomly. The blue light would start blinking, and the app would show an offline status. I could only fix this by re-pairing them, which was inconvenient, especially when away from home.
I reached out to Wyze support multiple times, submitted logs, and tried various router configurations. After some research and experimentation, I found a few solutions that made a significant difference:
-
Static IP Addresses: Assigning static IPs to my plugs helped reduce connection issues. This ensured they always had the same address on my network.
-
Router Settings: I optimized my router settings by ensuring the 2.4GHz channel was at full power and free from interference. This improved the plugs’ ability to maintain a stable connection.
-
Firmware Update: Updating to the latest firmware version (1.2.0.179) seemed to stabilize things further, though it wasn’t a complete fix.
-
Re-pairing Strategy: When issues arose, I learned to re-pair the plugs quickly, minimizing downtime. It wasn’t ideal, but it worked.
While I still encounter occasional hiccups, these steps have made a noticeable improvement. I’m glad I didn’t give up and hope this helps someone else troubleshoot their Wyze Plugs. Happy smart home tinkering! ![]()
