Hey everyone, I wanted to share a solution I found for a problem I was having with my Wyze Plugs. I set up a simple alarm system where one Wyze Plug controls the system, and another triggers the alarm when a door sensor is opened. However, I noticed a delay of 1-2 minutes for the alarm plug to connect to the internet after turning the system on, which was a bit frustrating.
The Solution:
I rewired the duplex receptacle so that one plug switches the neutral wire and the other switches the hot wire. This way, both plugs are always connected to the internet and respond instantly. It was a bit tricky, but the result is much smoother operation!
Automation Tips:
If you’re dealing with similar delays, consider parallel wiring or ensuring your devices are always powered. I also found that using single blades in the hot slots helps maintain connectivity. It’s all about finding creative solutions to keep your system reliable.
